We all know how the world was last year. As with the pandemic certain companies took breaks and were forced to pushed back production. Series like 5-toubun, Log Horizon, and technically AOT were pushed back to this year due to its affects. While many companies were already planning to come with new anime, sequels and other productions. Leading to the season we have now. A season to me that is one of the most loaded seasons I have ever seen.
Before I give my preview I will just say this. It is gonna be hard for people to not find a single anime to watch this season. So I am here to give you a preview of some anime I have my eye on in this huge list of series. Along with the one series that I would recommend the most to watch this season. If you want a more descriptive version I always recommend the big three seasonal sites below to see all of the anime this season.
Sleepers
I want to talk about 5 anime that I consider sleepers as they are battling with a load roster. Starting with 2.43: Seiin Koukou Danshi Volley-bu as it has to me has the highest potential of all of the new anime. It is a volleyball sports anime by David Productions. Who are the animators of Jojos and Fire Force. So I have high hopes on its animation alone with a sports series that I am interested in.
Horimiya is a romance of polar opposites that both have secrets that they hide. I recommend this heavy slice of life fans. As the manga is loved. Tenkuu Shinpan is one that I am very hyped about. As it is a manga that I love. It being a traditional survivor game anime where people fight to the death to live.
Speaking of survival series, Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi is one that I am shock that it even got animated. As this is a revenge story. With a lot of dark topics in it. Wouldn’t recommend it is a Berserk like series by no where close to it writing. Also a series to I am watching as soon as it comes out is Hortensia Saga. As it has to deal with war and politics. Which is very similar to my favorite manga of all time is Kingdom.
The Isekai Series
There’s hundreds of these things produced every year. Yet we still are watching them. So here is the only one that I am gonna look at maybe. With the series Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu with the plot of a businessman killed and reincarnated as a child. Totally never hear of before.
Now speaking of isekai we have some returns this season. With the long waited and pushed back anime of Log Horizon: Entaku Houkai. A world that I have fallen in love with and character I can’t wait to see. Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken 2nd Season also makes it return as a series I have yet to see.
Finally we have the franchise I love so much. Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu 2nd Season Part 2 is back as one of the top dogs in this stacked season. What will happen next, we will find out on January 6th.
Season 2 Galore
A Lot of second seasons are coming in this stacked winter. With Shonen Jump putting 2 of their key manga in. With Dr. Stone: Stone Wars & Yakusoku no Neverland 2nd Season both coming in. As they were both successful in their first season. And as a reader of the manga for both it only goes up from where they left off.
Hataraku Saibou!! Is the amazing world of your cells and what they do in you. I loved this series when it came out and boy it is fun to watch. Also interesting enough, another manga by the same author with the same premise is getting adapted in the same season with Hataraku Saibou Black being the more mature version in the same universe.
As we are talking about mature series. I might as well talk about Beastars 2nd Season. As it is one that I am really interested in where they go from the final episode. Also we get 5-toubun no Hanayome ∬ finally after a year of push back that was increase by the pandemic and other factors. So I am just happy to get this great harem mystery that I enjoy.
Also there are series that I haven’t seen or caught up to like Yuru Camp△ Season 2, Nanatsu no Taizai: Fundo no Shinpan, and World Trigger 2nd Season. That I know all have their fans excited for it and will be amazing returns as well.
Conclusion To Two Amazing Franchises
Finally we have the conclusion to two anime that both hold a special place in my heart. With Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season going on right now getting a jump on everyone. Then we have Gintama with the The Semi-Final special and the Gintama: The Final Movie to conclude Gintoki’s story on the big screen. These two franchises has give me such amazing stories, chracters, and just lessons that I am just happy to be a part of its conclusion.
Final Thoughts
Just to show you how big this season is. These are all just the a fraction of series that peak my interest this season. There was so much that I couldn’t talk about them all. I will say it now this season has a high chance to be the greatest of all time. So get ready to watch some anime.
