After finally getting the chance to watch this season. I just have to appreciate the greatness of Re:Zero. As the author of this series and the studio of the anime put so much work into this amazing season and story with so much more to come. As this season had great fights, a beautiful soundtrack, and breathtaking visuals to tell this story. So let us talk about what happens in Re: Zero Season 2 Part 2 and what is yet to come in the future.
Music
I have to start off with the music of this series. As the music composer for Re:Zero had the perfect soundtrack for every moment in this season. As every scene that I watched it felt it was the perfect sound wheriter it was a confession, a moment of horror, or pure action. The music matched perfectly for every moment. Also in this second half there was the addition to some new original soundtracks. With the main one for me being the song that was played during Ram’s and Roswaal fight. As that song was one of my favorites of the season.
Story Summary
The story of this second half was to get out of the sanctuary. While also saving the people in the mansion from Elsa. All of which was made by Roswaal, a man obsessed with Echidna and the book that she left him. Unlike most seasons in anime. This was the first season where Subaru didn’t die as he wants to value his life this time. After being given the words from Satella the witch of Envy. Leading to a chess battle between Roswaal and Subaru to save everyone or suffer consequences.
But, this time unlike most. This was a group effort by many to win this game of chess. Needing Emilia to pass the trials on her own, needing to recruit Garfield to then defeat Elsa at the mansion, needing Otto for travel, Ram and Puck to contain Roswaal, and much more things needed to be done. It was a daunting task, but they were able to do it. As Subaru was able to defeat Roswaal in his chess game of life and death. Able to save everyone and not die a single time with help from his friends and allies. Eventually recruiting Roswaal to his side also.
Characters
Now the cast this season was amazing. We didn’t get any new characters with the exception of Pandora. But, we got depth to a lot of characters that have been staples to the series. As we got information on long time people like Elsa, Emilia, Roswaal, and Beatrice. While also unlocking so much mystery in this world. Also we got more depth to the new auditions of season 2 part one with Garfield and Elsa. Garfield being one that was one of my favorites of this second half. Seeing all of these characters and what they have made this season to be was great and I can’t wait to see more of them all in the future.
Favorite Moment
My favorite moment of the entire second season was the Garfield and Elsa fight. Just seeing a battle between two people that come from different paths of life meeting at that moment. Two polar opposites in personality and fighting style. While also being one of the rare equal fights that we get in the show. It was one of the best fights that I have seen all year. While also being a fight that I will not forget for a long time.
What I Didn’t Like About This Season
If I am being honest the arc took a long time. Which is a negative and positive at the same time. As the negative is that we will have to wait or read the light novel to see what happens after this single arc that was the longest in the series so far taking a full 25 episodes. But, it was necessary to have all that to flesh out all of the characters and backstories. Despite saying that I feel that this season could have used one two more episodes as it felt a little rushed at the end to me. So not really a negative but a little critique. Also I am a little salty that we got only one episode of Rem in season the entire season two and 25 episodes later we don’t know what is gonna happen next with her or Crush.
What Is Next?
Well we have two goals for what is next in the series. One being what will happen in the election for Queen and what is needed to win it. I am hyped if an election arc is next. But with this series anything can happen. Second is the problem that started at the beginning of the first half of season 2. Being HOW TO GET REM BACK and regain Crush’s memories. We have little to no information to get Rem back and we never got any info with Echidna so how are we gonna get her back? Am I the only one concerned here.
Mystery Left
There is so much more as we also have to find out. As we need information on Emilia’s mother, the witches cult, Pandora, and Satella. Along with Satella’s connection to Subaru. Also we need to learn more about the witches and if there are other witches that are alive in the world. But, the one that I am most curious about is if Elsa really died or not. As I still want her character to be alive.
Final Thoughts
Can’t wait to see what happens next. I am grateful for this season and everything that we found out this season. Finally Season 3 When Thank you all for taking the time out of your day to read this. Until next time be great people.
You know, I just realized that Subara has three girls after this season. With likely more coming in the future.
SAE With a K 
I think the only way to restore Rem and Crusch to their previous states is to kill the person that did this to them. So this would require them to kill Lye Batenkaitos, the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony, the one who ate Rem’s name and memories as well as Crusch’s memories.
As for Echidna, who knows whether we’ll see her again. The only way to find out would be to see if liberating the Sanctuary had more than one purpose aside from deactivating the Sanctuary barrier.
Given that Echidna revealed in Episode 49 that Roswaal and Beatrice’s 2 copies of the not-quite-Tome of Wisdom were based on her Authority of Greed: Tome of Wisdom, Echida’s Tome of Wisdom is probably much more powerful and tells of all possible futures that could happen instead of just one or two people’s ideal futures. Roswaal’s not-quite-Tome of Wisdom could also update itself depending on what happens, and that’s why he made it snow on Day 2 and not just Day 3 sometimes, so it’s clear that if the copy of the Tome can update itself to tell Roswaal what to do if things were to go wrong, that Echidna’s Tome of Wisdom probably tells of all futures, as otherwise, Roswaal’s Tome would always tell the same future instead of changing sometimes.
Echidna likely knew that she would die one day with her Tome of Wisdom, so we’ll see if she had a contingency plan.

So the goal for season three is most likely to defeat the archbishops of Gluttony and also Greed (depending if the two are allies or not). While also dealing with the Royal Selection. But, with this series anything can happen. Thanks for the info as always and can’t wait for season three and more.
