I need to get this off my mind real quick. As every season we get new anime and I am grateful for it. But, I just have this little gripe with anime titles recently. With some that make me cringe while others are used so much that I just give up and accept it. So here are three things that to me are just annoying about some anime titles.
1) Super Long Anime Titles

I will start off with the one that makes sense but I still dislike. As more and more anime titles are becoming basically full sentences. I understand that they are mainly used on mainly light novels to sell the book to readers in Japan, seeing it off a bookshelf as a little summary or pitch to the story. And I know that this will not leave the industry anytime soon as we have plenty of popular series now with long titles like Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! But, to me it is just a little thing but is still annoying.
2) Random Symbols

Now what I mean by this is the series putting random symbols in place of the letters for a little bit of flare in the title. For example last season we got Go-toubun no Hanayome ∬ instead of Go-toubun no Hanayome season 2, II, or just have a continuation of the anime. I see this ∬ symbol and am just wondering what the f*ck is a ∬ symbol. I looked at my laptop keyboard and it was nowhere to be found. Then, I went to my phone’s keyboard and it was nowhere to be found. So I had to copy and paste this ∬ symbol on google and found out that this sign means double integral, a term that is used in math. Which I will admit and say was pretty clever due to the story of Go-toubun no Hanayome. But, if I didn’t make this post. I would have not even known what the point of that symbol is unless I was a math wiz.

Another series that I have seen recently is How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord Ω. So what is so omega about this season? As I am 7 episodes in a 10 episode anime and nothing is really omega about this season. I just want to put an end to these symbols unless they have significance to the anime.
3) Different Titles For the Same Anime

Do you know how hard it is for me to recommend people about the greatness that is the Monogatari Series? As much as I love the anime Monogatari, it is a prime example of this. As it confuses people where to go season to season and new watchers on where to start. So in order to watch this series you have to research online for the correct order on forums and blogs. Cause if you go from Monogatari season one to two you are skipping Nisemonogatari, Nekomonogatari Kuro, and possibly depending on your watch order Kisemonogatari. Which is just confusing as hell in itself and I just hope no more anime ever follow this model.

So at the end of the day some anime titles are stupid, others are simple. I do not see these trends stopping anytime soon. So I will just sit down and enjoy anime. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read and until next time be great.
