In most isekai, you are reincarnated as the person that you are, or some form of human. As I am researching a ton of isekai for a project. I wanted to talk about some of the more odd things you can get reincarnated as in isekai. Since everyone is not as lucky as Touya from Smartphone and be blessed with everything. So I want to commend some of these series for how they make stories out of some of these bizarre reincarnations. While also talking about some that made me just dumbfounded by the creation of it.

1) A Slime from That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

Now this series is one that I have to give a lot of credit to. As it took one of the weakest monsters in games typically. And made it into one of the most broken and overpowered abilities in anime. Along with it is also an enjoyable story. This would be easily my number one choice on this list if I had to be forced to be reincarnated as one.

2) A Hot Spring from Isekai Onsen ni Tensei shita Ore no Kounou ga Tondemosugiru

I have read some series in my life and I have to say that this is up there in terms of insanity. I am just wondering what the creator was thinking when they decided that a Hot Spring that only females can enter so far in the story. This story is funny. But, it is definitely not safe for work. Also I could never be reincarnated as a hot spring.

3) A Sword from Reincarnated as a Sword

Now this story to me is oddly the least original object out of this group. What I mean by that is the sword being a human or having a soul has been used by many series, like Bleach, Soul Eater, and many others. So when I read this series I had high expectations. So when I read it for the first time. I hated the main character so much that I couldn’t enjoy this series. Being a sword is not the worst. It just depends on your handler.

4) A Spider from So I’m a Spider, So What?

It’s kinda funny with this series. As it was in my read later for months as I could not read a story about a spider. So when I read it for the first time for this post. I was shocked at how good it was. As the writing in this story gave me vibes of another series that I will talk about in this list. As everything that this spider does in order to survive. I am interested in where this series goes as I get deeper in the story.

5) A Skeleton from Overlord

Now there are two stories that I can talk about. But, I will talk about Overlord as season 4 is coming soon so shout out to them. Now if Ainz wasn’t the overpowered ruler that he is. It would probably be one of the worst things to be reincarnated as. As being just bones would just be odd in general. Also am I the only one in the world thinking how Albedo and Ainz are gonna you know. Allow her to ride the bicorn that she is unable to ride.

6) A Goblin from Re:Monster

Now Goblins are used in stories a lot as the main enemy of various isekai and adventure series in general. So when I read Re: Monster for the first time. It was such an amazing story for its rebuilding of a Goblin Society with a human mind at the helm. As the way that Rou built up and reshaped the Goblins. It is an underrated and enjoyable series. Heck I need to make a post about this series one day. I see it as one of the most underrated isekai out there.

7) A Zombie from The Dungeon Master

Dungeon Master was a story that revolves around a man that was reincarnated into a world as a weak non-human creature. To then be made into a zombie by a mad scientist. The beginning of the story was very enjoyable. As it was a story that made everything suspenseful as the main character was fighting for survival every chapter. Out of all the series this one is a recicartation that I would not wish on anyone for the pain that this MC went through.

8 A Vending Machine from Reborn as a Vending Machine, Now I Wander the Dungeon

Some of these stories are ones that I have very few words for. Like I can talk about it being weird. But, the title is enough. I would never want to be a vending machine in a dungeon that can only communicate to one person. As that is just trash.

9) A Man Eating Flower from I’ve Been Reincarnated into a Man Eating Flower ~Revenge~ ~Till the Day I Eat Him~

Now the object that is reincarnated is one that is very unique and interesting. Just the way that the story was told was not. It is an interesting plot line. Along with having an okay start. It just falls flat to me. But, being a man eating plant is interesting to me.

10) A Magical Wand from Reincarnated as the strongest wand In another world, I’m forcing a girl to be a magical girl against her will!

The title of this story alone should say enough about this series. As this was a series that tried to mix the two genres of Isekai and magical girl. But did it very poorly. Along with the object of being reincarnated a pervy wand. It is just a series that is not it. Also being one of the worst to be reincarnated as on this list to me.
